چکیده

Gas oils (GOs) analysis is essential for production process control, in order to meet quality standards, render these products safer the environment, and support research alternative fuels. GOs quantitative can be commonly achieved by employing two-dimensional comprehensive gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (GC × GC-FID) combination identification templates. However, perform quantification families which coelute GC (e.g., naphthenes/olefins or polynaphthenes/monoaromatics), prefractionation of oil before necessary. Recent introduction vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) detector has offered new possibilities analysis, as this discern between majority hydrocarbon thus possibly rendering unnecessary. Additionally, it according Beer–Lambert’s law provided that VUV relative response factors (RRFs) are known. The purpose work report, first time, RRFs numerous hydrocarbons (∼160) their family carbon number, permitting direct without necessity GO prefractionation. were measured using a GC-VUV/FID dual setup FID was employed reference. In obtain representative any oil, set 14 different origins employed. Both averaged 125–240 nm range spectral (reference spectra) obtained. It demonstrated similar allowing universal use. Obtained used light cycle (LCO) GC-VUV, olefins naphthenes being quantified through decomposition. Good comparability results obtained observed demonstrating great interest GC-VUV approach detailed rapid oils.

Permanent Gas Analysis by Gas Chromatography – Vacuum Ultraviolet Spectroscopy

Gas Chromatography (GC) is a mature analytical technology used predominately for separating and quantifying the components of complex organic chemical mixtures. A wide range of columns and sample introduction techniques allow GC to be applied to most analytical problems involving volatile and semi-volatile compounds. One such application is the analysis of permanent gases, which are compounds t...

Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography with fast enantioseparation.

The development of fast chiral analysis for use in comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography in which a short second dimension enantioselective capillary column provides a route to precise measurement of chiral ratios of enantiomers is described. Retention times as short as 8 s are reported for (+/-)-limonene, with adequate enantioseparation maintained (Rs approximately 1.0) on a 1-m cyc...

haracterisation of lavender essential oils by using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry with correlation of linear retention indices and comparison with comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography

Nine samples of lavender essential oil were analysed by GC–MS using low-polarity and polar capillary columns. Linear retention indices (LRI) were calculated for each component detected. Characterisation of the individual components making up the oils was performed with the use of an mass spectrometry (MS) library developed in-house. The MS library was designed to incorporate the chromatographic...

Technology of multidimensional gas chromatography (MDGC) and comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC×GC)

The term ‘dimension’ in the above titles refers to the use of a ‘dimension of chromatography’ – or put more simply, a column – or for multidimension – two or more columns. In the broad sense, a ‘dimension of analysis’ is any technique that provides independent analysis capability. So FTIR, MS, and GC are discrete dimensions; they can be operated independently to provide some measure of analysis...

Automatic Blob Fitting in Comprehensive Two-dimensional Gas Chromatography Images

Two-dimensional gas chromatography is a recent technology which is particularly efficient for detailed molecular analysis. However, due to the novelty of the method and the lack of automated analysis tools, quantitative data processing is often performed manually. Hence, results are strongly user-dependent, time consuming and, consequently, relatively inaccurate In this paper, we extend convent...
